Provenance: According to family tradition, these pieces were presented to Charles Wilson Eliason, U.S. Navy Captain and Paymaster aboard the U.S. Battleship Louisiana, when the ship visited China. The Louisiana was one of the sixteen ships known as the Great White Fleet that Theodore Roosevelt sent on a voyage around the world in 1907-1909.
