Handwritten and hand-drawn listing of vessels with descriptions of rigging and sail configurations. Pen and ink on lined paper, 22 pp., 6 ¼ x 3 ¾ inches. Illustrating various types of vessels in colored ink with descriptions in English, the vessels also identified by name and national flag. Unfinished pages of ironclads indicate “Yankee” or “Rebel.”

Provenance: Library of James Torr Harmer (1856-1937), railroad official who worked for the Pennsylvania & Reading Railroad and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad before becoming Treasurer and Clerk of the Mexican Central Railway’s office in Boston.
